Taking on responsibility for a stores operations can be challenging - you are responsible for maximising sales, banking takings, stock control, recruitment, training and motivation of staff and all other aspects. Yet it is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate ability in a practical environment and to learn a range of organisational, administrative and people skills that are relevant in any other field of employment.

A lot of retail jobs actually take place off the shop floor. For a start, jobs in retail don't necessarily involve those focused upon the direct functions of a retail business in selling goods to customers - the term also covers a wide range of support jobs common to almost every modern business model.
