Above all else, treat it as FUN. Shopping for clothes doesn't necessarily have to be a chore - you can cut loose a little, try some styles out and remember that you too can look pretty decent if you dress up once in a while.

A few tips always hold true though: Dress your age! One of the most common failings that men make is to wear the same things they wore when they were young. Guys, let's face it: the eighties are over. Dress for your size! Unless you're lucky or a dedicated fan of keeping in shape, then you might be carrying a few spare pounds. Don't try and squeeze into lycra!

So it would be fair to say that, for a lot of men, our relationship to fashion and clothes is complicated. But that picture is slowly changing. While many men might not be prepared to drag themselves around town looking for that elusive pair of jeans, it seems that we are a lot more prepared to spend hours in front of computers flicking through web pages. There's no public scrutiny of our choices and we can safely indulge our passion for trying to shave pennies off the cost of something we really like by shopping around without leaving our chair
